Quick Whole Wheat No Rise Pizza Crust

Makes: 3 – 12 inch crust

Ingredients:
  • 2 cup water 110 degrees F
  • 2 T sugar
  • 2 packet rapid rise or instant yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 2 T olive oil, plus additional for brushing
  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • Cornmeal for dusting
  • Garlic powder and salt for sprinkling on crust

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
  2. In mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar and yeast, stirring to dissolve. Let mixture stand until foaming, about 5 – 10 minutes.
  3. Turn mixer on low and add salt and olive oil. Add the flour, a little at a time, mixing at the lowest speed until all the flour has been incorporated. When dough starts to come together, increase the speed to medium. Stop the machine periodically to scrape dough off hook. Mix until dough gathers into a ball, about 5 minutes.
  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and fold over itself, kneading until smooth and elastic. Divide into 3 equal balls, cover and let rest on floured surface for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll out and place on pizza tray coated with nonstick spray and dusted with cornmeal. Brush crust with olive oil and sprinkle with salt/garlic powder. Add desired toppings and bake 12 – 15 minutes.

*Note: Once divided into equal pieces, pizza dough can be wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in refrigerator until ready to use. If refrigerated, bring to room temperature before rolling.
