Homemade SpaghettiOs

Serves: 4 - 6
Ingredients
  • 1lb elbow pasta
  • 4 - 15 oz cans tomato sauce 
  • ½ cup milk or milk alternative of choice
  • ½ cup butter or butter alternative (Ex. Earth Balance spread)
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast (optional, but recommended)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp salt 
  • Mini turkey meatballs (optional; See below) 

Directions
  1. Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, cook pasta according to package directions. When pasta is done, drain and set aside.
  2. While pasta cooks, combine tomato sauce through salt in a medium saucepan, bring to a simmer, stir, and then reduce heat to low until the butter spread melts completely. Taste and add salt if needed.
  3. When sauce is done, add prepared pasta along with prepared mini meatballs, if desired, and stir to combine.

Baked Turkey Meatballs
Makes: ~16 medium-sized meatballs (a ton of tiny meatballs)

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 ½ cups dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 8 oz can Hunt’s Basil, Garlic and Oregano Tomato Sauce, or 1 cup homemade/jarred sauce
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • Generous sprinkle of salt and pepper
  • Homemade or jarred sauce for serving
 
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl and mix well
  3. Shape into balls and place on a non-stick baking sheet
  4. Bake 20 – 25 minutes until just reaching an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. *Note: For mini meatballs, bake 10 minutes. 
  5. Place in a large pan and pour sauce over top. Keep over low heat until ready to serve.
