Bourbon Glazed Salmon

Serves: 4
Ingredients
Bourbon Glaze:
  • ¼ cup quality bourbon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce, divided
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ tsp dried ginger
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

Salmon:
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1-2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds and green onions to garnish

Directions:
  1. Add bourbon, brown sugar, 2 Tbsp of soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger to a small pan, stirring to combine. In a small bowl, add cornstarch and remaining soy sauce. Set aside.
  2. Heat pan with sauce over medium-high, stirring frequently, until starting to simmer. Add cornstarch/soy sauce mixture, stir, bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium-low and cook until thick. Stir frequently to ensure the sugar does not burn. Turn off heat and reserve.
  3. Season both sides of salmon generously with salt and pepper. Heat sesame oil in a large pan over medium-high until shimmering. Add salmon and cook until golden brown on both sides and medium in the center.
  4. Plate salmon, spoon bourbon glaze over top and garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.
